‘Tis The Season: Holiday Makeup Trends

With the Holidays approaching, it’s great to have a makeup look that can easily transition from day to night. The Fall Makeup Trends for 2011 include sheer naturals or barely there color for day and bold metals for evening. “The trend for daytime is flawless natural makeup. For night, the look includes smoldering eye colors in rich jewel tones paired with a sheer lip and tempting shades of gold, bronze and metallic’s as well as rich earth tones.”

Finding the right foundation is important. It sets the tone for a great look. Start by matching foundation to the color of your neck, so it creates a natural even toned style. For the perfect foundation, I love Fashion Fair Perfect Finish Cream to Powder Makeup, $24. Perfect Finish makeup evens out skin tone creating a smooth, sheer finish & manages to keep my dry skin moisturized. Sephora’s own makeup line makes a great sheer Mattifying Face Powder to set the look and diminish shine for all skin tones. I love Bronze 65.

You can easily transition to shimmery Holiday palettes and beautiful smokey eyes for evening. Just remember to emphasis one area at time. For instance, if want the emphasis on the eyes, do a sheer lip color and keep the rest of your makeup low key. Less is more when creating this look.

For beautiful eyes, try Smashbox Holiday Eye Palette, $45. You get a range of sexy colors to play with in a gift box or choose the single color eyeshadow compact to throw in your purse for $16.00

The finishing touch can be created with Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss, $18, which adds just the right amount of sheer color & comes in a variety of hues for every skin tone. Lip Enhancing Gloss keeps lips soft and moisturized without feeling sticky or heavy. You really can’t go wrong with any of these products, they create a flawless look to take you from day to night. Happy Holidays!
