There are a lot of newcomers to the red carpet and Shailene Woodley is definitely making her mark. Before she entered the Shrine auditorium to prepare for her presentation with George Clooney for their film The Descendants, she worked the red carpet like a pro. Not only was she relaxed in her stylish and elegant L’wren Scott gown, the current star of Abcfamily’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager was flawless with a fresh and beautiful makeup look.

Here is the inside scoop created by makeup artist, Gloria Noto:

“To guarantee a luminous complexion all night long, I prepped Shailene’s skin with Biore’s Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser. It is vital to start with clean, nourished skin. This new cleanser is perfect because it strips away dirt and impurities without stripping skin’s natural moisture.

Next, I used Chanel Perfection Lumiere Longwear Foundation. This foundation is amazing, such a great finish that stays on for hours. It has a soft dewy finish which makes you look fresh all day long.

For here eyes, I wanted to give her a bit more smoke than usual and a little more color since she was presenting. I first used Chanel’s Eye Base Cream in Wheat to guarantee long wear. Then I used a small round tipped brush and a buffed out an eggplant eyeliner color 83 Cassis on the outer corners of her eyes and at tiny bit into the outer crease to give definition, but not a cat eye. We layered lots of Maybelline Black Mascara on the top and bottom lashes. I always brush Shai’s eyebrows straight up and then they naturally fall in the perfect position a few moments later.

On her cheeks, I used Chanel Cream Bronzer to contour but not give too much color.
On her lips we used lip conditioner and a touch of Chanel 38 Peche lip liner buffed over the entire lip.

Finally, I used Laura Mercier Unveiled Finishing Powder to set Shailene’s T-Zone and RMS Cream Highlighter was placed on her temples and above her eyebrows to give a soft reflective finish.”
