And the show must go on! After a season full of drama, scandal and various musical numbers, the curtain rose for Bombshell and closed for NBC’s latest hit show SMASH. The show centering on the creation of a Broadway play – appropriately named “Bombshell” – depicting the life of the infamous Marilyn Monroe wrapped up its first season Monday night. The episode concluded with Karen as the bombshell Marilyn and Ivy in the dressing room (possibly) drowning her sorrows with prescription pills. Over the past few weeks we’ve been granted a sneak peek behind the curtain into the world of Broadway dreams as two actresses fought their way to the top of the marquee for the privilege to portray Marilyn Monroe. We watched as relationships blossomed and died under the spotlight, were shocked when families cracked under the pressure and scandal unfold like The New York Times. Luckily for us, Smash was renewed for a second season while it was still in its few weeks of being on air. Where will we find our favorite creative team in the second season? Julia pregnant? Karen continuing on Broadway as the infamous blond? Ivy still in the picture and fighting for time in the spotlight? Derek changing his ways? And what will happen to Ellis? Will he bring the show to a screeching halt? Only time –and the critics – will tell! See you at the next raising of the curtain for “Bombshell” and SMASH!
