Loretta Devine, who plays the character Adele Webber on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” has signed on for a role in the ABC Family show “The Great State of Georgia.” The show stars former Disney actress Raven Symone along with Majandra Delfino. Both ladies play two best friends who are trying to make it as performers in NYC. Loretta will play the character Aunt Honey, the Southern landlady who knew Georgia’s late mother.

According to the official description, the pilot centers on Georgia (Raven Symone, ‘That’s So Raven,” “The Cosby Show”), an exuberant curvy performer from the south who is trying to make it big as an actress in New York City. Brock Cuchna (”Melrose Place”) plays Georgia’s Southern ex-boyfriend who, still madly in love with her, comes to New York to bring her back home. Series co-stars include Meagen Fay and Majandra Delfino (”Roswell”).
