Into Each Life, Some Rain Must Fall..Mouseover To See The Other Side of This Story
Scandal. The Walking Dead. Revolution. Greys Anatomy. NCIS. CSI. Law and Order: SVU. Many of your favorite shows are or have returned for the fall television season. I know many of you have been waiting impatiently after Olivia’s final words of last season, “Dad?” After the admittedly lackluster season finale of The Walking Dead where will the show go now that the Governor has seemingly ran away, and who is this new cast member soon to be joining their midst? The season finale of Law and Order: SVU may have set my expectations a bit too high because the season premier, a two hour episode, came in kind of flat and I don’t feel it lived up to expectations.
This is a good time of year for people. We’ve waited months and months for our shows to return and after promo after promo teasing what to expect from out shows, we finally get to watch new episodes of them again. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for the return of Scandal, Revolution, and The Walking Dead. I’m ready to delve back into the fictional lives of Olivia Pope, Miles Matheson, and Rick Grimes. They fill many an evening with their exploits and adventures.
There are even some new shows that have already captured my interest. I’ve seen two episodes of Sleepy Hollow already, and FOX may have a nice hit show on their hands. It has a nice mix of history, humor, and supernatural events. It’s a mix that has worked for some other shows in the past, so it could be successful. The two stars are mostly unknowns, though Orlando Jones (Drumline) and John Cho (Harold and Kumar Series) will be familiar faces. And, I watched the premier of The Blacklist on NBC, and I find it intriguing. Many questions, few answers to start with. Looks like some good characters. And it’s nice to see the return of James Spader (Pretty in Pink, Less Than Zero).
But, just as excited as I am for their return, I must admit, that I am sad that one of my favorite adventures will be drawing to a close. This Sunday, September, 29th will be the series finale for Breaking Bad. Not since 24 perhaps, have I found a single character so interesting and engaging as I have Brian Cranston’s portrayal of chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin Walter White. This show is one of the best character driven shows I have ever seen. Knowing that this Sunday is the series finale has made the watching of these final episodes a bittersweet experience, but at the same time I can’t wait to see how they close out this amazing show. I truly hope that it lives up to the expectations of its millions of fans.
