As the summer comes to a close and the beautiful hot heat of the sun starts to shift, the types of activities done for entertainment will change. We are bidding farewell to the scandalous fun of the day clubs, the oh so tranquil visits to the beach and gone is the weather for those impromptu pool parties. These activities being taken off of our list of options will bring about more activities taking place in doors or at home. Well, don’t you fret just yet. Even though the party all the time atmosphere of the summer is slowly transitioning into more time in the house, there are many activities that you have to look forward to. Whether you’re looking for a reason to get dolled up or just wanting a good ole night to relax and get pampered, Round up a group of your girlfriends and get ready to have “The Perfect Ladies Night”.
Let’s start off with the planning. What type of ladies night would you like to have ? If your longing to slip into those fancy shoes and get all dressed up, how about a formal dinner party. Have the ladies bring a dish or their favorite drink or cocktail. And, dressed to the 9’s of course, what is a formal dinner without the formal attire. Good food and great friends are always the best cure for that summertime sadness.
Don’t feel like cooking or getting dressed up ? You could always kick it old-school style by throwing a full on pajama party. Pull out the onesies and the sleeping bags for this blast from the past ladies night. A few of your favorite chick flicks and a tub of popcorn with your gal pals, You just can’t go wrong.
Feeling a little stressed out from your day to day routine? What is more relaxing than a day at the spa? For this type of girls’ night in, bring the spa to you. Set up your home with towels and incents. Along with softly playing music and dimly lit areas or even use candle light. Turn your bathroom into a sauna. Yes, a sauna at home in your own bathroom, here’s how; First purchase some menthol shower tablets, I love the vaporizing shower soothers by SuduCare ($15.99 Walgreens.com ). Next, you place the tablet on the floor of your shower and turn on the hot water. Lastly, you close the door and wait for the steam to fill up the bathroom. You now have your own spa sanctuary right in the comfort of your own home.
Now to my favorite part of planning any girls night, picking out what my guest will be eating and drinking. Depending on the sort of night I have planned I like to stick to finger foods. My rule when choosing items are always to pick something succulent, something savory, and something sweet. At every event I throw I have 3 must have items. Stonemills Kitchen Spinach & Artichoke Parmesan Dip, Red and white wine from Vinos Passaporte paired up with Theo’s Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate.
The Spinach and Artichoke Parmesan Dip by Stonemills Kitchen is the best to purchase because this dip only has 4 main ingredients. What comes in this dip is Spinach, Artichokes, Parmesean Cheese and Garlic, that is pretty much it. This dip is really yummy when eaten with freshly cut vegetables or pita chips ($4.99 Walmart.com)
Onto the good stuff, Wine and Chocolate. Vinos Passaporte has two of my absolute favorite wines, their white wine Fruliano 2011 and their red Refosco 2009. Both have a very crisp and clean taste. I like to drink the red refosco while eating food that contains salt or with Theo’s milk chocolate salted almond bar. The richness of the wine with the faint saltiness of the chocolate make for a tasty two-some. The white wine fruliano goes great with just about anything but what I always seem to have with this is either the Theo’s 70% Dark Chocolate or the 70% Orange Dark Chocolate. These items are made from Italy and are very well made products. You can check out a few different variations of packages that include both the wine and chocolate together. All of their combinations are great, they believe in quality and it comes across in their products (Packages $39.99 Vinospassaporte.com)
Now see, staying in the house during the fall and winter months can be just as exciting if not more. The right planning, people and atmosphere will keep you entertained, at least until Spring that is 🙂
