We are a few days into the New Year and may have already broken every resolution we made. However, as long as we are Happy does it really matter? I was sitting here recently flipping through my phone and heard a song come on the T.V. in the background. It was “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. I put the phone down and stopped to watch the music video. By the time I was done watching it I was in tears. I could not stop crying. In the video (spoiler alert) there was a lady that reminded me of myself. Curvy woman in a black dress just celebrating whatever it was that made her Happy. Maybe it was nothing special at all? Could it be she was just Happy with herself and where she was in life. I did want to share with you a couple of lines from the lyrics:
“Because I’m Happy….
Come along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I’m Happy…
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth”
Listen, I know you may have read so many motivational stories over the last few weeks encouraging you to stay motivated, to keep pushing, and don’t stop believing as we continue in 2014. I am here to reinforce that through sharing this song. You may have already heard it before or you’re like me and you heard it but were so focused on watching Despicable Me 2 that you did not stop to hear the real message behind the song. Whatever it is you do this year, let it make you Happy! That is what is most important. We spend so much time focused on what we are doing wrong or right we miss the opportunity to just in enjoy life.
It sure makes me Happy to engage readers like you. My room has no roof when it comes to writing. Oh yea… Don’t worry after you listen to the song…I mean really listen, you too might get up in the middle of your living room and clap about your Happiness- I did!
Wishing you all the Happiness you can handle in this year!
