Maybelline color tattoo is my newest product that has me swooning. The colors are very intense. They are beautiful and long lasting. But all that you can find out from their ads, what I was impressed by was the consistency was similar to MAC paint pots, at less than half the price, and the added possibility for a coupon or even a BOGO. The luxurious colors and textures are very reminiscent of high end products and the level of pigmentation is impressive.
The Maybelline Color Tattoo is called a “cream gel shadow” but like the paint pots they can be used as a shadow, a liner, or a base/primer. The colors can be very subtle or very bold depending on application .My favorites are Bold Gold, Bad to the Bronze and Tenacious Teal and I think Fierce and Tangy will be an essential for spring, since Tangerine will be the color of the year 2012 but I have not gotten my hot little hands on the Tough as Taupe or Painted Purple yet because those two colors seem to fly off shelves. these coveted little pots are in my opinion a MUST HAVE for the makeup lover and for the drug store divas but I really think that my high end make up mavens should try them as well. They are a wonderful alternative, and a great dupe for your high end paint pots or gel liners for everyday.
There is a learning curve on application and I would suggest doing one eye at a time because the colors, once fully dried are not very blendable but once you get the hang of the long lasting color it becomes almost addicting. Very impressed with the latest offering from the drug store makeup counter. Do not sleep on this one.
