The true definition of a Mean Shoe “Y. Jaiselle Stiletto Designs”, I can hands down say that these designs are a guilty pleasure of mine personally and as well as any person that has viewed their feet in these gorgeous stilettos. Having the perfect pair of heels to go with any fashion is like putting icing and sprinkles on the cupcake. Anything I want to put the icing on the cup cake I reach for a pair of my custom Y. Jaiselle designs. The great thing about them being custom is that they are truly “CUSTOM”, handmade specific for you. I have received so many complements on these custom made jewels, I felt the need to answer the questions that I have been asked. Where did you get those? Who designs those? How much did those cost? Well ladies read on and you can get more information on these spectacularly designed stilettos.

Dr. K: Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? What are your general professional and non-professional interests?
Y. J.: My name is Yasmine Jaiselle Coleman and I am the owner of Y. Jaiselle Shoes. I am from Los Angeles. California and currently I am a celebrity Executive assistant by day and a shoe designer by night.

Dr. K: What does fashion mean to you?
Y.J: Fashion to me is expression. It allows you to be exactly who you are without opening your mouth to tell everyone. Even if you work a 9-5 and your boss gives you a dress code of no open toed shoes or skirts above the knee… The person that you are will still find a way to express itself through your bright pink blouse and even those sexy pumps you put on. It describes your moods from feeling horrible and going to the grocery store in basically your pajamas to going to that same grocery store in a cute sundress and sunglasses walking with your head held high because you know that you look HOT.

Dr. K: When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer?
Y.J.: I never really knew I wanted to design, it just kind of happened. I am an average girl who can not necessarily afford a pair of $3000 pair of shoes, so one day I decided to make my own. They came out a little better than expected and I put a picture on my Face book page to show my friends what I did. All of a sudden I kept hearing people say “I want some, I want some!” That’s how it happened and that’s when I realized I should take this a little more seriously because I might be on to something.

Dr. K: What was the first article you ever designed?
Y.J.: The first pair I ever designed were a pair of 4 inch pumps covered in black, clear and grey crystals with spikes and chains. (That’s the kind of person I am)
Dr. K: Those inspired me for my first order…Beyonce meets Ed Hardy!!

Dr. K: How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?
Y.J.: It can take anywhere from 4 hours to about 12 hours (non consecutive because I have to eat and sleep)

Dr. K: Describe the general process you go through to design and realize a shoe.
Y. J.: I think them up in my sleep most times… depending on my customer’s personality I suggest a design customized for them. I usually ask them if they are a princess or a rock star and we go from there. There are designs that I suggest to my customers that are 100% my idea if they can’t think of anything for themselves. They are always designs I have never made for anyone because I hate making the same thing more than twice. I believe you should never be anywhere and have to worry about someone having on the same thing as you do.

Dr. K: What are some of your accomplishments as a designer?
Y.J.: My biggest accomplishment is being able to make something that should cost thousands of dollars affordable to the average woman. I don’t want to pay thousands, so why should you?!

Dr. K: Where can readers buy your shoes?
Y.J.:They can visit www.yjaiselle.com or on Facebook just search Y. Jaiselle Shoes, or email me directly at dertyredd24@gmail.com

Dr. K: How would you define your personal style?
Y.J.: I am a rock star… I love anything edgy. No flowers and no lace for me… give me leather, chains, spikes and bright colors or black… NO PASTELS (thanks to my Mom who kept me in pink through my entire childhood, LOVE YOU ANYWAY ? )

Dr. K: What are some of your fashion goals?
Y.J.: My ULTIMATE goal is to be a major line, competing with the “Big Dogs” like Loubouin, YSL and Lorenzi… One day!!!!

Dr. K: What do you believe makes a quality shoe?
Y.J.: A great base shoe as well as the best crystals money can buy, which would be Swarovski. When someone gets a Swarovski crystal shoe, you can definitely tell. I just can’t stop looking at them.

Dr. K: What’s your favorite part about conceptualizing a design?
Y.J.: My concepts are usually off the wall… until I bring them to life on the actual shoe… I love seeing it come together just how I imagined. I love the looks on the faces of the people I described the design to (usually my parents and friends) that thought the design sounded crazy and far fetched… They can’t do anything but smile and give me high five… I love bringing new and crazy ideas to life.

Well there you have it ladies straight from the beauties mouth, I own a few pairs of these gorgeous designs and they stop the show wherever I go. So go and visit Y. Jasielle’s website and treat yourself to a pair and tell her Dr. K sent you!!
