Make Waves this Spring with Water Inspired Style

Spring is a time for new beginnings. And we all know April showers bring May flowers. So, wash away the dreariness of winter by incorporating water into your wardrobe. Although you cutting-edge fashionistas may be headed for the nearest water spout to drench yourself, consider covering yourself in water themed clothing instead. The biggest names in fashion drenched the runways from Milan to Paris with clothes inspired by water and the sea. Salvatore Ferragamo gave an impeccable collection of flowy dresses. Chanel presented muted blues reminiscent of the color of a river on a cloudy day.  Armani  showcased structure and sheen while Givenchy used sequins to give a sense of sparkle and scales. The red carpet was bathed in blue by stars such as Jane Lynch and Sofia Vergara. Incorporating this fashion trend in your everyday life is simple. Color and movement are key. Incorporating bright or inky blues, teal, cerulean, and even a touch of sliver can evoke the color and shimmer of the ocean. And wearing clothes that call to mind the fluid movement of water will give you the full effect. Check out the runway and red carpet looks below. I’ve even found a few pieces that can be delivered to your doorstep that are sure to make waves when you wear them.  So come on and dive in to this spring trend, the water is fine.

  1. I’m trying to get more into dresses & I like this style….

  2. I love dresses! They don’t cause “muffin top” like some jeans/pants, the not so tight/flowy ones keep me cool in the hotter months, and they can be accesorized to be dressed up or down depending on the situation.
