Detroit had a blast at Michigan F.A.S.H. Fest on September 8, 2012. We were there for the Runway Industry Showcase where six designers with ties to Michigan showcased their 2013 Collections.
Michigan F.A.S.H. Fest is a three-day event made possible by Leslie Ann Pilling, founder and CEO of Presence II Productions – a Michigan-based company. The name stands for Fashion, Art, Sound, and History and through this series of events, Ms. Pilling intends to provide opportunities for inspiration, networking, education, creativity, and collaboration. Partnered with Forgotten Harvest, a local charity aimed at reducing hunger and food waste, this event seeks to not only boost Michigan’s economy, but to “pay it forward.”
Hosted by Karen Buscemi, Editor of Styline Magazine, the Runway Industry Showcase included the Collections of six designers. The first three designers, Ramita Vilkene, Cynthyah Beamon, and Que Shebley showcased truncated versions of their 2013 Collections, with the remaining designers, Fotoula Lambros, Lyudviga Shneyders Couture, and “Fashion Star,” fan-favorite, Nzimiro Oputa, showcasing full collections. Makeup and hair were provided by Whip Hand Cosmetiques and Antonio Salon & Spa. www.michiganfashfest.com
