The Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund is a fund that is dedicated to research, awareness, and education with intentions of improving the treatment, and early diagnosis of this disease. The Laura Mercier Ovarian Cancer Fund was founded in 2012 to help reduce the number of deaths from this condition and give non-profits, and foundations the means to continue the research and education of patients diagnosed or at risk of getting ovarian cancer.
President Claudia Poccia and Founder Laura Mercier have collaborated after the sister of Claudia was diagnosed and fought with the disease. Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death in cancer patients in the country, and over 20,000 new cases are expected to be newly diagnosed.
